Jim Mackintosh BA 

is an Edinburgh based freelance photographer specialising in portraiture, corporate and weddings.

He was a finalist in the Scottish Portrait Awards 2017.

 

Why Portraiture?

“I love meeting people, always have. Most of us don’t make a habit of being photographed so it’s great to be able to put people at ease and capture a natural shot."

 

“I like to think that I’m easy going and relaxed. While the shoots are professional they've got to be fun as well. There's something wrong if there's no laughter."

"Meeting and discussing a clients vision of what they want is always interesting and leads to a collaborative approach. It's great working with other creative people and bouncing ideas of each other. It's a great way of learning and picking up new ideas."

 

And weddings?

“The initial approach was from a couple who loved my portraits and asked if I’d consider covering their wedding. They wanted relaxed and informal images. I loved the experience. It was really good fun so I decided to develop that side of work further."
