Empty Playgrounds

There is something intrinsically sad about an empty playground - a space that should be filled with laughing children.

I began taking this series because of the opportunities that the shapes, colours and varied locations gave but I also began to wonder if the lack of children was also a reflection of todays society. Where are they? Indoors playing on ipads?
